2-WIRE EL (Electroluminescence)

  • Appropriate for small applications / low intensity applications (Keyboards, dashboard, personal electronics etc.);
  • Low Brightness
    • White: 50-68 cd/m2;
    • Blue/Green: 50-80 cd/m2;
  • Shorter life span at desired brightness compared to LEC technology;
  • Not suitable for high intensity backlighting/signage applications;
  • Poses shocking risk;
  • Noisy;
  • Fragile;
  • Excessive EMI (electromagnetic interference);
  • Panel brightness decreases dramatically over the life of the panel.

  • Large format applications;
  • High brightness (luminosity) – 200 to 300 cd/m2;
